The other day I was asked to speak with the members of the board at the agency I work for about what it is like to be a child therapist, what my day is like and things like that.
“Just tell one of your success stories,” I was advised.
“No problem,” I thought to myself. “This will be easy.”
So I began thinking … thinking … thinking. After about 10 minutes, I was feeling pretty down because I could not think of a single “success” story. All kinds of questions were running through my mind at once, and I was having some difficulty sorting them all out: Do I suck at my job? What’s wrong with me? Am I too hard on myself?
So I began reconsidering (which is the thing that got me in a bad position in any case). Rather than concentrating intensely for some wonder tale about how I was the mental Sherpa for a poor stranded soul to explore the tricky voyage to wellbeing, I started to consider the general conceptualization of the expression "achievement."
Achievement is a conceptual idea that is anything but difficult to characterize in a region, for example, business. It's about numbers, and numbers don't lie. The proportion between cash coming in and cash going out is the meaning of accomplishment in business.
Directing isn't developed that way. The entire idea of achievement in advising is abstract. Truly, insurance agencies endeavor to make it less emotional by making medicines plan with quantifiable destinations, for example, the recurrence and force of customer indications (crying spells, outrage upheavals, burdensome considerations, and so forth.).
This bugs me however, and here is the reason.
